A Monumental Dialogue with Wood

Aspen Golann's "Vessel" stands as a monumental wooden sculpture standing 5 feet tall (1.52 metres), a bas-relief masterpiece inspired by 17th to 19th-century American furniture from The Met Museum's collections. Her work, a fusion of carpentry, sculpture, and cabinetmaking, reinterprets traditional forms. Drawing further insight from Vacheron Constantin's enamelling and engraving techniques, Golann transforms wood into a living canvas, where every carved detail speaks of meticulous handwork and artistic reinvention.
